Being a musician comes at a cost. An expensive cost that would never be paid back until you actually make it at least to a certain point in music industry. It's your time. It’s your energy. It’s your life you are spending on it. This industry is opposite of what many dream. It’s not that Disney world that you enter and from first day you are walking on the red carpet! This is music industry for God’s sake. You need to work harder than you can imagine and you need to learn very well on how to deal with rejections.
This article is not here to tell you that you never can make it in music industry but it's telling you that if you're not a hardworking person and if you don't have faith in what you're doing, the chance of success is pretty small for you! You have to keep making and marketing it. None of them alone is enough. Let me tell you this way, let's say you are an awesome songwriter and/or producer and you have these great songs you had just made and your keeping them in your computer, what would be your next move? Or opposite of that, if you are not that great of a songwriter but you keep bragging about your music. People are not stupid. They listen, and they see it doesn’t match with what you made them to expect, and guess what, even if your next projects are actually good, these people most probably won’t care anymore! Because they’ve lost their trust.
Just remember one thing. If this is what you love to do for a living, don’t be afraid to put all you have in it. Sweat, tear and blood are there to be spent on achieving your dreams!
