BADCOMBINA
Record Producer, Songwriter
Robert Levelind, also known by his stage name BADCOMBINA, born 14 December 1989, in Stockholm, Sweden. He defines Combina as a Hebrew slang that means "a favor or creative means used for solving a problem or making an under the table deal, using your personal connections." which he found out about from a visit to Tel Aviv. This word stayed in his mind for a while and developed its way to form a different personality for his artistic ideas, separated from his day-to-day life.
BADCOMBINA always had the ambition to create songs for himself, trying to find a "gap" of songs he needs in his life. He has been doing photography, filmmaking, event coordination, artist booking, etc in his spare time but making music stayed with him and build its way to be more than just a hobby. The first spark for his career in music as a producer was Purity Ring - Shrine which he finds it mesmerizing to this day. He is trying to fulfill his dream of perfect pop songs by getting inspiration from Noonie Bao, Charli XCX, Joakim Åhlund, Patrik Berger, and Blood Diamonds. He believes writing music is more about how you use the chords than how fancy the chords are. He starts his work with a simple outline for a story and tries to get to the details of the story by adding his feeling at the time. |
He describes his style of music as a variation between the array of the talented artists he worked with but in a general note, he mostly thinks a distinct "BADCOMBINA" style is that play between the predictable and the unknown and being in this interesting void of sound.
